Dark Lord Day 2011 was just what I had imagined. The beer geeks of the country came together in Munster, Indiana to celebrate the bottling of 3 Floyd’s Dark Lord Imperial Stout. This is the only day of the year this beer is sold in bottles, and you can only buy some if you are lucky enough to get a ticket.
I learned some things by watching seasoned pros, which I’ll remember for next year. But I can see this becoming a tradition.
I am collecting my thoughts, which I will share soon, but mostly today is a day of recuperation. I met a lot of great people, tried beers I had never heard of, and had a great time. And, yes, I cam home with some Dark Lord!
